"The Dark Knight Rises" hits theaters on July 20, 2012. The film stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis and Josh Stewart.

Some Countries Won't Get CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER Title

The New York Times is reporting that Marvel and Paramount Pictures, which is distributing “Captain America: The First Avenger,” figured they would simply release the film as the truncated “The First Avenger” in foreign countries. But in a surprise, Paramount’s overseas operation objected, arguing that Captain America had too much brand value, even in spots like France that are leery of embracing Team America too readily. In the end, the studios decided that Captain America would keep his name in all but three countries: Russia, Ukraine and South Korea. 

South Korea? Really? A place where we have thousands of American soldiers standing between them and the communist nut job leader in the North. Purely this decision is based on money I hope. Paramount and Marvel want to maximize revenues in those countries, but they should be ashamed of themselves. Will they edit Captain America's red, white, and blue star shield too? Will they replace it with a red shield? Give me a break! America has nothing to be ashamed of. We are a great country, and the fight against the Nazi's was a noble and moral thing. 

The New York Times said "Selling a quaintly patriotic war hero in a politically divided United States would be tricky enough." Really? Tricky to sell a movie called "Captain America" in the America. That is a bunch of foul trash. Are we that politically divided? Really? We already know that there are a bunch of people who hate their own country, but those people are in the few.

Russell Crowe to Play Superman's Biological Father Jor-El in Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL

Some exciting news about the upcoming "Superman" movie! Russell Crowe has been cast to play Superman's biological father Jor-El (previously played by Marlon Brando in the original "Superman" film) in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, reports Variety. He will be joining Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon and Antje Traue in the new film, coming to theaters in late 2012.

Christopher Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder are producing the anticipated film, which is expected to start shooting next month.

STAR TREK 2 Pre-Production Update News

TrekMovie.com caught up with Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof.  In a new exclusive interview, the writers/producers talk about the "Star Trek" sequel schedule, character development, getting the mix of old and new right, fan patience, and more. The untitled "Star Trek" sequel is slated to be released June 29, 2012.

TrekMovie.com: Let’s start with the status on the script and the schedule. The latest we hear is for September to start shooting. Do you guys feel confident that can happen?

Damon Lindelof: [chuckles] Confident is such a strong word. Here is our thinking. We feel pretty strongly that the best version of this movie is directed by JJ [Abrams]. And therefore we totally defer to his availability and when he wants to direct. This isn’t us passing the buck, but it is us passing the buck. Is it possible to start shooting the movie in September? Absolutely, we would totally be ready to go. But that doesn’t mean we are going to start in September, that is a question only JJ can answer. I think one of the things about Super 8 is he started shooting it late last fall and it had to be released [June 10]. And the Trek sequel is going to be much more ambitious on a post-production level, then Super 8 was. The fundamental idea of shooting it and getting it in the can and having it come out next July is entirely possible and we are confident we have the team in place that would be able to achieve that, but that might not be the best version of the movie.

Alex Kurtzman: We made the commitment to each other on the first movie not to put that movie out unless we felt it was going to be the best version of the movie. And that meant taking our collective time. The first Trek had a release date of Christmas originally and we had to move it to the summer because it wasn’t going to be the best version, it was going to be rushed and it would have never been the movie that we put out there. Part of our responsibility to Trek is to make sure it isn’t rushed, that we take our time and do it right.

Simon West to Direct THE EXPENDABLES 2

Deadline is reporting that Simon West will be calling the shots this time out for "The Expendables 2". Simon West is best known as the director of Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. He recently directed the remake of The Mechanic (starring The Expendables' Jason Statham).

Stallone is currently the only confirmed member of the sequel's cast at the time of publishing this article.

Stallone co-wrote, directed and starred in the first film, which earned $274.5 million in theaters worldwide last year and also starred Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, David Zayas, Giselle Itie, Charisma Carpenter, Gary Daniels, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke.
